3rd Annual Heart of the Hudson Valley Bounty Festival
This is a day long family event showcasing the bounty of the valley and supporting agriculture.  CIA judged Agri-Culinary Restaurant Competition using locally grown food, wine tasting, arts and crafts vendors, recreational demonstrations, music, and kids’ activities. Ths has been designated as an official Quad event by the Town of Marlborough and sponsored by the Town of Marlborough in association with Meet Me in Marlborough.

Fee: $5.00 for adults (includes raffle ticket), $2 seniors, free under 18.

Capital District Apple Festival & Craft Fair

This all day event includes: haunted houses, face painting, pumpkin painting, clowns, pony rides, kids activities, fiddlers, wine tasting, museums and special displays, farmers market and bakery, cooking demonstrations, and other various entertainment for the whole family.

Farm Renewable Energy Field Days
The Small Farms Energy Work Team, a project of the Cornell Small Farms Program, invites you to a series of on-farm renewable energy field days located around New York in late July and early August. Come out and meet farmers that have installed small-scale solar, wind and hydro-power. Learn about grants, energy audits, and other energy resources available to farmers.  Light refreshments will be provided.  The Farm Renewable Energy Field Days are free and open to the public.

Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, Inc. (ASCFG) 2009 National Conference and Trade Show

This conference begins with a one-day session for new growers, or those incorporating cut flowers into an existing program, followed by conference sessions that  will cover growing and marketing aspects of commercial cut flower production, including new varieties, energy efficiency in the field and greenhouse, and overviews of peony, bulbs, sunflowers, mum and alstroemeria crops. Flower tours will include Cornell University’s Long Island Horticultural Research and Extension Center, Harbes Family Farm, and Garden Treasure Nursery. The conference will conclude with a post-conference bonus tour with Allan Armitage which will encompass visits to local private and public gardens on Long Island.
